Chevrolet Reveals 2024 Equinox EV as Part of its All-Inclusive EV Strategy
Under the GM umbrella, Chevrolet has unveiled the 2024 Equinox EV, the brand’s second best-seller. With a pivotal role in GM’s “An Electrifying Future For Everyone” strategy, Equinox is gearing up for an imminent U.S. launch. Priced at an estimated $30,000, Chevrolet aims to make it one of the most affordable EVs in its class.
The Equinox EV impresses with a spacious interior with technology and a reasonable price tag. It offers an estimated maximum range of 300 miles.
Although Chevrolet hasn’t finalized production for this year, observers spotted the first model rolling off the assembly line at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico last June.
Design and Specifications Leaked Through China’s MIIT
The photos were leaked by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The design closely resembles the version shown in the U.S. Manufactured by SAIC-GM, the vehicle measures 190.7 inches in length, 75.3 inches in width, and 64.7 inches in height—making it 7.8 inches longer and 1.9 inches wider than the internal combustion engine models available in the U.S.
The RS version packs a dual-motor powertrain with a maximum output of 283 horsepower (211 kW). A ternary lithium-ion battery from SAIC-GM powers the vehicle.
Chevrolet plans to debut the Equinox in China shortly and aims to launch it in the U.S. this fall.
