According to the prosecution, Mr. A is accused of following a woman in her 20s, Ms. B, to the front door of her home in Mapo-gu, Seoul, around 2:50 a.m. on the 18th of last month, choking her and attempting sexual assault.

At that time, Mr. A tried to enter Ms. B’s house and commit sexual assault, but it was reported that he failed because there was a friend inside Ms. B’s house.

The police, dispatched upon receiving the report, arrested Mr. A around 7 a.m. on the day of the crime after tracking him down through surveillance cameras and other means. He was handed over to the prosecution for detention on the 26th of the same month.

A prosecution official said, “We are doing our utmost to protect and support the victim during the investigation process,” and “Because he attempted to assault a victim sexually he did not know in the early morning, we will do our best to maintain the prosecution so that a sentence commensurate with the crime can be pronounced.”
