Due to manufacturing defects, Hyundai, BMW, Kia, and Stellantis Korea are voluntarily recalling over 60,000 vehicles.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport announced on the 7th that 43 models of 69,044 vehicles manufactured, imported, or sold by these companies have been found to have manufacturing defects and will be recalled. Firstly, 22,803 units of three models, including the Hyundai EQ900, will be recalled from the 13th of this month due to insufficient engine oil supply pipe durability. In comparison, 13,457 Porter II units will be recalled from the 7th due to a design flaw in the fixing bolt of the engine drive belt tension adjustment device.

12,607 units of 34 models, including the BMW X7 xDrive40i, have been undergoing corrective action since the 5th due to manufacturing defects in the integrated brake device (an integrated unit of electronic and hydraulic brake systems).

Kia is also recalling 11,569 units of two models, including the K9, from the 13th due to the insufficient durability of the engine oil supply pipe. 7,653 Bongo III units will be recalled from the 7th due to a design flaw in the fixing bolt of the engine drive belt tension adjustment device.

955 units of two models, including Stellantis’ Jeep Wrangler PHEV, will be recalled from the 11th due to a software error in the coolant heater.

Meanwhile, the recall status and specific defect details can be checked by entering the vehicle and ID numbers at the Automobile Recall Center.
