A power struggle for the title of “world’s richest person” is ongoing between Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and Bernard Arnault, Chairman of the French luxury group Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH).

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index on the 10th, as of the 7th, Chairman Arnault has reclaimed the title of the world’s richest person, surpassing Bezos. Arnault’s wealth is the only one exceeding $201 billion, surpassing Bezos’s $198 billion.

This is the first time in about nine months that Chairman Arnault has taken the top spot since losing it to Musk at the end of May last year. On the 4th, Bezos took the top spot for the first time since 2021 by surpassing Musk, but three days later, he had to give it up to Chairman Arnault.

Musk, who had held the top spot for a long time, saw his wealth value drop to $189 billion, pushing him down to third place behind Arnault and Bezos. Musk is now being chased by Mark Zuckerberg, who is in fourth place. Zuckerberg’s wealth value is $182 billion.

The title of the world’s richest person has fluctuated this year as their stock prices fluctuate. In the case of Tesla, the stock price, which was $248 at the end of last year, plunged nearly 30% to $175, and Musk’s wealth value decreased by $40.4 billion this year alone.

On the other hand, Amazon’s stock price rose from $151 at the end of last year to $175, and LVMH rose from $733 to $844, each increasing about 15%. Meta’s stock price surged 43% from $353 to $505, increasing Zuckerberg’s wealth value by $53.5 billion.

The wealth value difference between Arnault, who is first, and Zuckerberg, who is fourth, is $1.9 billion, and the competition for the title of “world’s richest person” is expected to be fierce for the time being.

Meanwhile, Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, whose stock price has surged 76% this year, ranks 20th in wealth value with $77.2 billion.
