On the 24th, North Korea’s General Secretary Kim Jong Un inspected the command headquarters of the People’s Army’s Seoul Ryu Kyong Su 105th Tank Division and the directly subordinate 1st Tank Armored Infantry Battalion.

The Labor Newspaper reported on the 25th, “General Secretary Kim Jong Un received a reception report from the commander of the 105th Tank Division and reviewed the division and its associated joint forces and the commander’s ranks.”

It reported that “after listening to the report on the division’s attack and defense operation plans from the division commander, the General Secretary reviewed the battle documents and instructed on the operational combat missions and combat training directions of the joint forces under the division.”

“In addition, he presented tasks that serve as guidelines for strengthening fighting readiness and combat power by training tank soldiers militarily and physically,” the report added.

General Secretary Kim took a commemorative photo with the command soldiers after watching a performance by the division’s art propaganda team at the soldiers’ hall.

Following this, General Secretary Kim inspected the directly subordinate 1st Tank Armored Infantry Battalion of the Seoul Ryugyong 105 Tank Division.

The newspaper reported, “General Secretary Kim met again with the battalion’s tank soldiers, who received excellent evaluations in the recent inter-division competition training games of the People’s Army tank soldiers, and encouraged them.”

“At the battalion training ground, General Secretary Kim guided the tank soldiers in overcoming obstacles and high-speed breakthrough training, expressing satisfaction that they were well-prepared as versatile crew members,” it added.

General Secretary Kim’s inspection was accompanied by Pak Jong Chon, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Military Commission; Kang Sun Nam, Minister of National Defense; and Lee Young Gil, Chief of General Staff of the People’s Army.

The 105th Tank Division was the first tank unit organized by President Kim Il Sung in August 1948. It received the title of Seoul Ryu Kyong for being the first to enter Seoul during the 6.25 (Korean War).
