NewJeans Drops New Double Single ‘How Sweet’: A Fresh Take on Hip-Hop Music

joynews24 Views

NewJeans is making a comeback with its vibrant hip-hop music.

Their agency, ADOR, recently announced on the fan communication app Phoning that NewJeans will release a new double single, “How Sweet,” along with its music video. They also gave a sneak peek of the album and its title track.

“How Sweet” is a track that delivers a sparkling sensation. It is based on Miami Bass with stimulating electro sounds added. Earlier, the members of NewJeans gave hints about their new style on the YouTube channel Hal Myung Soo, describing “How Sweet” as a hip-hop style they haven’t shown before and asking fans to look forward to our new image.

There are four tracks in their double single “How Sweet,” including the title track of the same name, the song “Bubble Gum,” and instrumental versions of each song. The single will be released at 1 p.m. on the 24th, and the music video for the title track, “How Sweet,” will be released at 4 p.m. on the same day.

ADOR recommended, “We suggest you fully enjoy the music first before watching the music video,” and added, “We hope you enjoy the new music and performance to the first music show, Music Bank, that follows right after the music video release.” Before this, NewJeans boldly released the full version of the “Bubble Gum” music video, reaching out to the public solely through music and content.

The music video was praised for its refreshing visuals, and it caused a sensation by ranking first in the Korean Weekly Popular Music Video category on YouTube for two consecutive weeks. Before their comeback, on the 21st, NewJeans will appear on Korea On Stage, broadcasted on KBS2. They will be the first K-pop girl group to present a unique performance at the Geunjeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace, and member Daniel will take the solo MC role.

Meanwhile, following their comeback in Korea on the 24th, NewJeans will make their official debut in Japan on the 21st of next month. Their debut single in Japan, “Supernatural,” will include the title track of the same name, the song “Right Now,” and instrumental versions of each, totaling four tracks. They have demonstrated their overwhelming popularity by selling out all tickets for their fan meeting, which will be held at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 26th and 27th of the same month.
