ADOR and NewJeans announced on June 3 that they donated all profits from their university festival performances to the Korean Scholarship Foundation.
ADOR and NewJeans stated, “We received a lot of love and support while performing at seven university festivals over a week. We wanted to give back to the college students who need help. We are grateful for the opportunity to do so.”
The donation made by ADOR and NewJeans will be used to support living and housing costs for low-income college students.
The Korean Scholarship Foundation expressed their gratitude to ADOR and NewJeans for their commitment to donate to economically disadvantaged college students. They promised to do their best to help students in difficult circumstances continue their studies and hoped that the scholarship recipients would continue the cycle of giving back to society.
Last month, NewJeans performed at university festivals across the country, starting at Korea University on May 25, followed by Chosun University on May 27, Dong Eui University and Busan National University on May 29, Dongguk University and Sejong University on May 30, and Chung Ang University on May 31. They received enthusiastic responses for their performances, which included their new songs “How Sweet” and “Bubble Gum,” as well as a medley of their hit songs.
NewJeans’ “How Sweet” topped the Korean weekly popular songs and music video categories in the YouTube Music Chart from May 24-30. It also ranked second and ninth in the global weekly popular songs and music video categories, respectively, proving its worldwide popularity.
