Tram Collision in Russia Results in Casualties and Chaos

A tram collision in Kemerovo, a city in southwestern Siberia, Russia, has resulted in one fatality and over 100 injuries so far.

According to reports from Russia’s TASS, Sputnik, and AFP on the 6th, two trams collided around 7:30 in the morning in Kemerovo.

A spokesperson for the local branch of the Russian Federal Investigative Committee stated, “So far, 102 people have been injured, and one of them has died.”

In a video of the accident released by Russian media, one tram lost control while going downhill and collided with another tram stopped to pick up passengers.

The Federal Investigative Committee stated that an investigation is being conducted to determine whether there were any deficiencies in safety standards related to this accident.
