Early Voting Shows Kamala Harris Leading Trump—What the Numbers Say

With the U.S. presidential election on November 5 just five days away, early voting is expected to favor the Democratic Party over the Republican Party.

According to the Washington Post, on Thursday, various polls of early voters indicated that Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris is leading significantly over Republican candidate former President Donald Trump.

In a poll released by ABC News and Ipsos on Sunday, Vice President Harris received 62% support among early voters, compared to just 33% for former President Trump.

A similar trend was observed in a poll published by the New York Times and Siena College on October 25, showing that 59% of early voters supported Harris, compared to 40% for Trump.

Furthermore, Harris led in every state except Nevada in early voting polls conducted by CNN, Fox News, and others in seven battleground states.

Political analysts suggest that Democratic supporters tend to participate more actively in early voting methods, such as mail-in ballots, which explains the Democratic candidate’s lead in early voting.

In fact, according to political media outlet Politico, in the battleground state of Pennsylvania, 58% of early voters aged 65 and over identified as Democrats, compared to 35% who identified as Republicans.

However, Harris’s early voting support in current polls is lower than President Joe Biden’s figures four years ago. However, it is still higher than the support former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received in early voting during the 2016 presidential election as the Democratic candidate.
