On Wednesday, Harris spoke at her alma mater, Howard University, in Washington, D.C., where she emphasized the importance of accepting the election results. She stated that they would assist in Trump’s transition to power and ensure a peaceful transfer of authority. She also mentioned that she had called Trump to congratulate him on his victory.

Harris expressed her disappointment, stating that the election outcome was not what they had hoped for or fought to achieve through their votes. However, she emphasized that a fundamental principle of American democracy is accepting the results of an election when one loses.

She continued by affirming their commitment to the ongoing fight for freedom, opportunity, fairness, and dignity for all, reflecting the ideals representing America’s best. She stressed the importance of perseverance, insisting they must not give up.

My heart is full today, full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country, and full of resolve.” She thanked her husband, family, President Joe Biden, and Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz (Governor of Minnesota).

Trump confirmed his victory in the election by securing 295 of the 538 electoral votes by 6:26 PM (ET) on Wednesday, while Harris secured 226 votes.

"Unity"? Interesting so an election platform that calls MAGA - which just means Make America Great Again - over 50% of the nation - idiots, deplorables, racists, misogynist, etc. was a call for unity? I guess it means memory loss too. Not sure if I buy that from "Ends Justify the Means" folks.
