A North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation, led by Deputy Minister Park Myung Ho, visited Mongolia and returned on the 14th.

Rodong Sinmun reported on the 15th, “Workers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and staff from the North Korean embassy in Mongolia greeted them at the Pyongyang International Airport.”

The North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation, led by Deputy Minister Park Myung Ho, held consecutive meetings with the President of Mongolia and the heads and deputies of Mongolia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Korean Central News Agency reported on the 12th, “Deputy Minister Park Myung Ho, who is visiting Mongolia, paid a courtesy call to Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh on the 11th and delivered a message from the General Secretary Kim Jong Un.”

The newspaper also reported, “Deputy Foreign Minister Park Myung Ho visited the Mongolian Foreign Minister Batmunkh Battsetseg on the 10th and held a conversation with the Deputy Foreign Minister Gankhuyag Amarjargal on the 11th.”

A government official from the Ministry of Unification analyzed, “European countries have been trying to return to their embassies through various routes since the end of COVID-19 last year, but North Korea did not show any responses. Thus, North Korea’s recent opening of its doors can be seen as a response to the establishment of diplomatic relations between South Korea and Cuba.”
