A beautiful lawyer in China has made headlines for turning to live broadcasting as a side job due to her low salary.

According to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 7th, the story of a female lawyer in her 20s named Xiao Bingxin from Shanghai, China, who took up a side job, became a hot topic online.

She announced on her social media that she would proceed with a live broadcast on the platform named Edgeball. Edgeball is a term derived from table tennis and refers to a live broadcast that includes content that induces sexual interest.

Xiao Bingxin passed the bar exam at the end of 2021 and started her legal career in 2022 by joining a law firm in Shanghai, receiving a salary of about $650.

She revealed the reason for starting the adult broadcast, saying, “My income increased to $795 when I became a salaried lawyer, but after paying rent, there was hardly any money left.” After finishing her lawyer duties, she appeared on live broadcasts on various social media platforms in her free time, and she has about 600,000 followers. Xiao Bingxin mainly danced in revealing outfits or provided real-time legal advice to viewers. She even disclosed in one broadcast that she earns about $2,890 a month from online live broadcasts.

After the fact that a lawyer was doing an adult broadcast became controversial, she said, “It was a joke. I’m sorry for making a playful comment. I will speak and act carefully in the future.”

Although the live-streaming account is still active, all controversial past videos have been deleted.
