North Korea has carried out a series of complex provocations, including missile provocations and disruptions of the Global Positioning System (GPS) signals.

The South Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff announced on the 30th, “Our military detected North Korea’s GPS jamming signals originating from the area north of the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the West Sea around 7:50 this morning.” North Korea also attempted to disrupt GPS in the same area the previous morning.

The Joint Chiefs emphasized, “There are no restrictions on military operations due to GPS disruption so far.”

They continued, “Our military is operating a detection system to counter North Korea’s GPS jamming. We keep a response posture by sharing real-time information with related agencies such as the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and the Korea Coast Guard.”

North Korea’s signal disruption took place after launching about 10 short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea.

The Joint Chiefs announced around 6:14 this morning, “We have detected about 10 flying objects, presumed to be short-range ballistic missiles, launched from the Sunan area in North Korea into the East Sea.” According to military authorities, the launched missiles flew about 217 miles and landed in the East Sea.

North Korea has been carrying out various provocations since sending garbage balloons to South Korea on the night of the 28th. It seems to be attempting to create chaos in South Korean society by carrying out low-intensity provocations, such as garbage balloons and signal disruptions, as well as high-intensity provocations using missiles.

Many people believe that North Korea is carrying out various provocations to divert attention from the embarrassment caused by the explosion of the military reconnaissance satellite.
