On Tuesday, Japanese media outlets such as NHK and TBS reported that North Korea had once again launched what was suspected to be a ballistic missile.
According to Japan’s Defense Ministry, the suspected ballistic missile was detected around 7:31 AM and is believed to have fallen into waters outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Officials confirmed they are continuing to gather intelligence and maintain heightened surveillance.
Following the Defense Ministry’s statement, the Japan Coast Guard issued an alert at 7:55 AM, suggesting that the missile had likely already splashed down. The alert advised nearby vessels to remain vigilant and attentive to any related information.
This launch marks North Korea’s 13th suspected missile firing this year, including the high-angle launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) conducted on March 31st.
