According to The Wall Street Journal, Fisker Inc. has reportedly hired restructuring advisors to prepare for a possible bankruptcy filing. The company is currently facing a challenging period, with the possibility of its stocks being delisted due to recent declines. In its latest annual report, Fisker warned that it may be unable to continue operations. It stated that its resources are insufficient to cover the next 12 months. While it does not necessarily lead to a company’s bankruptcy, it will draw investor attention to the increased risk, thereby protecting itself from possible investor lawsuits, especially in the U.S., should a bankruptcy occur.
News of Fisker seeking a partnership with Nissan for electric trucks emerged shortly after the quarterly report was released. Fisker unveiled a pickup truck concept called “Alaska” in 2023, resembling the Nissan Frontier.
Fisker recently announced two study models, Pear and Ronin.
Fisker does not have its own production facilities. The Ocean is being contract-manufactured by Magna, and Fisker has partnered with Foxconn in Taiwan for “Pear.” It is also reported to be in negotiations with other major companies.
While The Wall Street Journal cannot guarantee certainty, it seems clear that Fisker is facing management difficulties.
