South Korea’s largest cafe has been registered in the Guinness World Records. Positive Space 566, located in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, has been recognized by the Guinness World Records, based in the UK as the ‘largest cafe in the world.’

Positive Space 566 is a hotel-style cafe with a total area of 128,102 square feet. The cafe can accommodate about 2,200 people at once, and the number of indoor seats is 2,190. The interior is made up of various facilities.

Before Positive Space 566 was listed in the Guinness Book, the largest cafe in the world was ‘Al Masaa Cafe’ in Saudi Arabia. Al Masaa Cafe has 1,050 seats, making Positive Space 566 more than twice as large.

Positive Space 566 spans from the basement to the fifth floor. Upon entering the first floor the high ceiling is the first thing that catches your eye, creating a glamorous atmosphere thanks to the massive chandelier. The fifth floor is the Positive Art Center where you can enjoy exhibitions by famous and emerging artists from both home and abroad.

Positive Space 566 is not just a place to drink coffee but a place to enjoy the space. Each floor has a different interior making it feel like you’re on a trip. At Positive Space 566, you can enjoy a variety of coffees, beverages, bakery items, and pasta.

The cafe owner stated, “I opened the cafe with the thought that there should be a cafe of this size in Korea,” and expressed great joy at “providing a new landmark in Gimpo through the Guinness Book registration.” If you visit Positive Space 566 today, you can fully enjoy the Christmas atmosphere.

② Venues with Arboretums and Outdoor Gardens

Gimpo is home to various large cafes. It’s a popular spot for outings near Seoul, boasting many glamorous cafes. Among them, ‘Green Park’ is a famous arboretum cafe in Gimpo. Decorated with lush plants, it gives you the feeling of visiting an arboretum. The space is nearly 8,611 square feet filled with plants.

They also dug a pond and planted trees to create a more eco-friendly atmosphere. The cafe is equipped with benches, hammocks, and swings, making it a great place to rest. The interior of the cafe is made of glass windows, and the atmospheres of the first and second floors are different which adds the fun of sightseeing.

As it’s famous for its massive size in Gimpo, it’s bustling with many people even on weekdays. At Green Park, you can enjoy a variety of coffees, bakery items, and salads.

Cafe de Chelsea

‘Cafe de Chelsea’ is a cafe located in a spacious outdoor garden of 10,764 square feet. With a walking path, it gives you the feeling of being in a tourist spot rather than a cafe. As the name suggests this place embodies the spirit of the ‘Chelsea Physic Garden,’ a secret garden in London, England.

In the Ilum Gallery, you can see the Afternoon Tea Course and the royal props of the UK, such as teapots. At Cafe de Chelsea, you can enjoy a variety of Italian dishes and specialty coffee roasted on-site. There’s a wide variety of dishes, including pasta, risotto, and steak. It’s also famous as a good place for brunch in the morning.

Currently, a large tree is installed in the outdoor garden allowing you to feel the Christmas vibes.

‘Cafe in Jungri’ in Hwaseong Gyeonggi Province is a cafe near the Pulmuone Riverside Park. It’s a place where the natural landscape and the building blend well together. It’s a cafe where you can enjoy different atmospheres throughout the four seasons. Inside the cafe, you can enjoy the scenery through the large windows. It’s a great place to enjoy with family, offering a wide variety of dishes such as Texas BBQ, Jungri Seafood Noodles, and Buffalo Wings. Cafe in Jungri also offers a wide variety of coffees and drinks that can only be tasted here.

‘Forest Outings’ in Ilsan is a famous place among large cafes. It’s a representative cafe in Ilsan and has been a hot topic on social media. The cafe is designed with various concepts and also has spacious group seats that can accommodate up to 18 people.

The cafe is filled with fresh plants and glamorous lighting. During the Christmas season, just looking at the sparkling decorations can make you happy. In particular, the Christmas decorations at Forest Outings are famous for their visual quality. It’s a place visited by many people to feel the Holiday spirits. Thanks to its open spacious nature, Forest Outings is a large cafe without any sense of oppression.
