‘Fast and Furious’ Star Vin Diesel
Accused of Sexual Assault by Personal Staff Member
Revelation Made Possible by the Speak Out Act
Hollywood actor Vin Diesel, known for his roles in ‘Fast and Furious’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, has been accused of sexual assault.
According to U.S. entertainment media Page Six and other foreign media outlets on the 21st (local time), Diesel has been sued for sexual assault by Asta Jonasson, a former personal staff member.
Jonasson claims she was sexually assaulted by Diesel in a hotel suite in Atlanta during the filming of the 2010 movie ‘Fast and Furious 5: Unlimited’.
At the time, Jonasson was reportedly instructed by Diesel to wait in the suite while he met with hostesses at the hotel.
Jonasson stated, “Vin Diesel grabbed my wrist and pulled me to the bed, groped my chest, and kissed me. I screamed and ran to the bathroom, but he pinned me against the wall and tried to sexually assault me.”
She further claimed that she was fired by Diesel’s sister and stated, “I was let go because I was no longer useful. Vin Diesel tried to use me to satisfy his sexual desires.”
Asked why she sued Diesel 13 years after the alleged incident, Jonasson said, “I couldn’t announce the fact due to a confidentiality agreement at the time.”
However, she added, “Thanks to the Speak Out Act and California AB2777, a bill that temporarily exempts the statute of limitations for allegations of sexual abuse I was able to finally file a lawsuit.”

The Speak Out Act which prohibits the enforcement of non-disclosure agreements for sexual harassment came into effect in July last year.
Meanwhile, Diesel has not yet commented on the allegations.
