Variety spotlighted NewJeans’ accomplishments on the Billboard charts and Spotify and their collaborations with global brands such as Coca-Cola and Apple. The magazine described NewJeans as “total K-pop darlings.”

This year, NewJeans has maintained an active presence with a comeback in South Korea and a debut in Japan. Their double single “How Sweet” and Japanese debut single “Supernatural” dominated major South Korean music sites and performed strongly on various global charts. Both albums surpassed 1 million copies in sales, establishing NewJeans as a million-seller for all five albums they have released to date. Their fan meeting at Tokyo Dome on June 26 to 27 attracted over 91,200 fans, confirming their remarkable popularity.

Meanwhile, NewJeans has received a nomination for the MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) for the second consecutive year. According to the nominee list released Tuesday for the 2024 VMAs, NewJeans is up for Best K-Pop with “Super Shy,” one of the three title tracks from their second EP, “Get Up.” Last year, they were also nominated for Group of the Year.
