Amid the bloody conflict between Israel and Palestine that has been ongoing for three days, the Saudi Crown Prince has declared his support for Palestine.

On the 7th, the Palestinian armed faction Hamas launched a bold attack, including launching rockets without warning, infiltrating combatants, and waging war with Israel.

In response, the United States declared its support for Israel, the only democratic country in the Middle East, in just a day. Following this, advanced countries took a hard stance on the side of Israel against Hamas.

Hamas threatened, “If Israel continues to attack, we will execute hostages,” and stated, “Hostage executions will follow all acts targeting civilians. We have no choice but to broadcast the execution of hostages in audio and video.”

As the conflict between the two countries escalates, Saudi Arabia is declaring its position on the side of Palestine and attempting mediation.

On the 10th, Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, conveyed to Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority, that “We will stand with Palestine and strive to stop the conflict” and “We need to examine international law and ensure that no civilian massacres occur.”

Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who officially declared his support for Palestine, is a figure like the ‘incarnation of power and strategy,’ suppressing the complex power structure of Saudi Arabia, where there are hundreds of princes, as the next heir to the throne of Saudi Arabia.

As the unofficial world’s richest man, he visited Korea in 2019, 21 years after King Abdullah met with former President Moon Jae-in. He held a joint meeting with the owners of the top five Korean companies, including Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong of Samsung Electronics. He revisited Korea last year to mark the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Korea and Saudi Arabia, three years after his visit.
