Chairman Chung Eui Sun of Hyundai Motor Group is set to deliver a lecture at a world-renowned university.

According to recent business circles, Chairman Chung is considering delivering a lecture on ‘First Mover (Market Pioneer) Leadership’ at Stanford University in the U.S. next spring.

It is known that the special lecture was proposed when William Barnett, a Sustainable University Professor at Stanford Graduate School of Business, visited Korea last July and had a meal with Chairman Chung.

If Chairman Chung’s lecture takes place, it will be an opportunity to introduce how Hyundai Motor Group, which was perceived as a latecomer compared to automobile companies in the U.S., Japan, and Europe, made rapid moves in electric cars, hydrogen cars, and future air mobility (AAM).

He had visited universities before.

In May, Chairman Chung attended a discussion class, Organizational Learning: Opportunities and Traps at Yonsei University’s Business Department. This lecture centered on a case study that deeply analyzed Hyundai Motor Group and Chairman Chung’s disruptive game changer vision and innovation, Hyundai Motor Group: Fast Follower to Game Changer.

Meanwhile, Chairman Chung, who celebrated his third anniversary in office this month, led the company to third place in global vehicle sales last year and first place in operating profits among domestic listed companies in the first half of this year (January to June).

Genesis, Hyundai’s premium brand, has also settled in the North American automobile market since its launch in 2015, surpassing one million cumulative global sales this August.
