According to News1, on the 25th, Judge Hyo-Jin Kim of the Gwangju District Court sentenced A (42) to 3 months in prison for obstruction of business, public duties, assault, and insult.

The media reported, “A was charged with verbally abusing and assaulting employee B (25) at a cafe in Dong-gu, Gwangju around 2:10 p.m. on April 8th.”

A is known to have hurled abuses at B, saying things like “Open your eyes” and “Can’t you understand what I’m saying? I know a lot of scary guys.”

In addition, A caused a scene for about 10 minutes, pulling down B’s mask and entering the drink preparation area without permission.

A’s rampage did not end there. She was also charged with assault and insult for biting the calf of police officer C, who responded to the report, and kicking him.

In front of other customers, she seriously insulted the police officer, saying, “May all your family become disabled.”

The reason A caused a scene at the cafe was revealed during the police investigation. The kiosk malfunctioned, and she received a different drink from the one she ordered, which led to such an incident.

In addition, it was confirmed that A was sentenced to 1 year 6 months in prison, and 3 years of probation for obstruction of public duties at the end of 2021.

The court explained, “It is inevitable to sentence her to prison as she committed another crime during probation. However, we considered her age, behavior, means and methods of the crime, and the fact that she deposited money for the victims.”

Meanwhile, those who assault or threaten public officials performing their duties are punished for obstruction of public duties. If this is violated, under the current law, they are sentenced to less than 5 years in prison or a fine of less than 10 million won ($8,400).
