The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), which has been intensifying its ground operation in the Gaza Strip to dismantle Hamas, is reported to have seized one of the Hamas strongholds.

According to a report by Yonhap News on the 6th, the IDF announced in a statement that it had captured a Hamas stronghold, which includes observation posts, training camps, and underground tunnels, and killed several Hamas members in the process.

In another battle, the IDF eliminated several Hamas field commanders. The IDF added that its air force fighter jets had hit 450 Hamas targets, including underground tunnels, military bases, observation posts, and anti-tank missile launch sites in the past 24 hours, removing Jamal Musa, the commander of Hamas’s special operations unit.

The IDF had previously announced that it had surrounded Gaza City and divided the Gaza Strip into north and south.

Local media reported that the IDF is expected to enter Gaza City within 48 hours and start full-scale urban warfare.

The IDF announced that it had opened evacuation routes for civilians in anticipation of full-scale urban warfare.

Meanwhile, the Gaza Health Ministry, which is under the control of Hamas, reported that “over 200 people have been killed overnight due to the IDF’s airstrikes.”
