Singer Kahara Tomomi has successfully lost 66 pounds.

On the 7th, Kahara Tomomi (49) posted a noteworthy picture on her social media story (which was deleted after 24 hours). It was a full-body shot of Tomomi, who had slimmed down from 174 pounds to 108 pounds, a whopping 66 pounds weight loss. Her slender figure and narrow waist were striking.

Tomomi often shares her workout routines at the gym on her social media account. She stated, “I realized how poor my physical strength was after a long personal training session. Without physical strength, I can’t sing well. I think personal training is more important to me than becoming a singer,” expressing her determination.

Netizens were amazed by Tomomi’s recent progress, leaving supportive comments such as “It’s incredible to lose 66 pounds at almost 50 years old,” “She must be healthier both physically and mentally,” and “It’s hard to lose weight as you get older. Good job.”

Meanwhile, Kahara Tomomi, once known as the ‘Cinderella’ of the Japanese music scene, has had a tumultuous career in entertainment. She debuted in 1995 with her first single, “Keep Yourself Alive,” and continued to top the Japanese music charts for five consecutive weeks, receiving much love for her numerous hit songs.

However, in late January 1999, she fell into a temporary coma due to gas poisoning. Since then, she has taken several breaks and made multiple comebacks. From around 2004 to 2010, she dated a company executive for six years but suffered hardships, including a broken nose in 2006 due to her partner’s habitual assault.

Subsequently, in 2007, she terminated her contract with her agency, Production, due to ‘health issues.’ Frequent schedule disruptions, repeated hiatuses, and misconduct were cited as reasons for her dismissal.

After retirement, Tomomi was admitted to a closed ward to treat an addiction caused by the excessive intake of sedatives, which she took to cope with the distress of leaving the entertainment industry. In November 2012, her former agency, Production, re-signed her, and she made a comeback after five and a half years with the song “I Proud.”
