Homeless Person Threatening Station Staff Subdued at Jamsil Station on Subway Line 2
Citizen Claiming to Be Spider-Man Says “Visited to Create Memories for Children”
A surprise appearance by Spider-Man at Jamsil Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 has caused quite a stir.
On the 12th, social media and several online communities were abuzz with eyewitness accounts of Spider-Man at Jamsil Station. One netizen exclaimed, “I saw Spider-Man. He was breaking up a fight between a homeless man and a pedestrian. Is he really Spider-Man?”
The accompanying photo showed a citizen dressed as Spider-Man intervening as a homeless man threatened station staff.
The incident occurred around 9:10 PM on the 11th, when a station staff patrolling Jamsil Station attempted to remove a homeless man sleeping inside the station, who then became threatening.
In the video capturing the situation, Spider-Man appeared just in time to grab the homeless man’s hand and restrain him. The homeless man shouted, “Let go of this,” and charged at the station staff, but Spider-Man calmed him down by saying, “Calm down.”
The sight of the homeless man, his hands held by Spider-Man, wildly swinging his arms in excitement, looked like he was dancing, causing onlookers to burst into laughter.
The police, responding to the station staff’s report, forcibly removed the homeless man. After the situation was resolved, Spider-Man mysteriously disappeared.
As this incident became a hot topic, a citizen claiming to be ‘Spider-Man’ emerged around 1:30 AM. He posted on X (formerly Twitter), “I intervened so it wouldn’t escalate into a bigger fight until the police arrived, which they said would take about 10 minutes. I often go to Jamsil on weekends (dressed as Spider-Man), where many children come, and I take pictures and create good memories for them.”
