K-pop girl group Newjeans will be the first KPOP girl group to grace the stage of the U.S. ABC’s New Year’s special show.

On the 14th, Newjeans’ agency Adore announced through their official SNS, “Newjeans will be performing on ABC’s ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024′ (hereafter referred to as ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’).”

‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ is the most-watched New Year’s special program in the U.S., airing from the evening of December 31st until the dawn of the New Year.

The ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,’ now in its 52nd year, is a program full of attractions, including performances by the year’s top singers and the New Year’s countdown event at New York Time Square.

Newjeans, Post Malone, and Ivy Queen are included in the lineup for the ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.’

Post Malone will perform in Las Vegas, Ivy Queen in Puerto Rico, and Newjeans is set to take the stage in South Korea.

So far, Psy, BTS, J-Hope (BTS), and TXT were the only K-pop artists who have appeared on ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.’

By appearing on ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,’ Newjeans set a record as the first girl group and the fastest K-pop artist to make it to the show after debut (1 year and 5 months).

Last August, Newjeans became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the large-scale U.S. music festival ‘Lollapalooza Chicago,’ where despite their first performance in the U.S., they received explosive popularity as approximately 70,000 audience members sang along.

Last month, they performed the opening act at the ‘League of Legends (LoL) World Championship,’ the world’s largest e-sports festival, and became the first K-pop girl group to perform at the ‘Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs),’ one of the top three music awards in the U.S.

Meanwhile, ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ featuring Newjeans will be broadcast live on ABC from 8 p.m. on the 31st (local time, 10 a.m. on January 1st Korean time). 2023
