AI-Generated Adult Content: OpenAI’s Next Big Step?

theguru Views

Recently, there has been an increasing likelihood of adult content being created using generative artificial intelligence (AI). This is because OpenAI, the AI company that developed ChatGPT, is considering allowing the production of adult content using AI. At the same time, OpenAI is committed to continuing efforts to prevent deepfakes.

According to the source on the 10th, OpenAI is considering whether to provide the ability to create Not Safe For Work (NSFW) content, which includes adult or inappropriate posts that are explicit or violent. If OpenAI allows the creation of NSFW, this content will likely include sexual acts, explicit, bloody expressions, defamation, and insults.

Since OpenAI unveiled the Sora AI text-to-video model in February, there has been growing interest in the production of adult content using generative AI among users and the pornography industry.

However, while considering authorization for NSFW content creation, OpenAI emphasized that it would strictly prohibit the creation of deepfakes, such as synthesizing the faces of celebrities.

The industry predicts that generative AI will fundamentally change the adult entertainment industry. In addition, it is expected that a bespoke era where consumers create their pornography will come. On the other hand, some concerns about allowing generative AI to produce adult content could lead to severe ethical and legal risks.

An OpenAI official said, “We have no intention of creating pornography with AI,” adding, “We will not tolerate deepfakes and have strong safety measures in place to prevent them.”

The official also said, “ChatGPT should be able to respond to a prompt asking it to write a story about two people having sexual relations in a train,” stating, “Such content could be important in the creative process. We will explore ways to provide age-appropriate content.”
