Trump’s Cognitive Attack on Biden Backfires with Name Blunder at Rally

Former President Donald Trump made an error by mispronouncing his physician’s name while mocking the cognitive abilities of President Joe Biden.

According to CNN on the 16th, Trump criticized Biden’s economic policy at a conservative group Turning Point Action event in Detroit, Michigan the previous night and said, “He probably doesn’t even know what the word ‘inflation’ means,” and “I think Biden should take a cognitive test like I did.”

A few seconds later, he continued, “Do you all know Dr. Ronny Johnson?” and said, “Ronny Johnson, a congressman from Texas, was the White House physician. He said that I was the healthiest president.”

Trump referred to him as Ronny Johnson, but the name of his White House physician is Ronny Jackson. Jackson was elected to the House of Representatives in 2021 and is one of Trump’s staunch supporters in the U.S. Congress.

Jackson, who was Trump’s White House physician in 2018, revealed that former Trump had taken a cognitive test used to detect early signs of memory decline and cognitive impairment.

According to the Associated Press, Trump tried to highlight Biden’s old age in his speech that day, but ended up mispronouncing his physician’s name and immediately came under criticism from the Biden camp. Biden’s presidential campaign posted a short video of Trump’s speech on social media platform X later that day.
