Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude for the hospitality he received during his visit to North Korea last week and suggested an invitation to North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
On the 25th, the Korean Central News Agency announced, “Kim has received a letter of gratitude from Putin.”
Putin stated in his letter, “This state visit has elevated the relationship between Moscow and Pyongyang to an unprecedented level of comprehensive strategic partnership, which holds special significance. The two countries are now unfolding new prospects for beneficial cooperation in various fields.”
Moreover, he showed his intention of an invitation by saying, “Please do not forget that you are always a welcome guest in Russia.”
During the Pyongyang summit on the 19th, Putin also told Kim, “I hope the next meeting will be held in Moscow.”
