Why Oatmeal Bread Is the New Must-Try Recipe of the Year

Daniel Kim Views

For those of you who have always been fascinated by oatmeal, as often depicted in foreign movies and novels, you’re not alone.

I’m not a big fan of oatmeal porridge due to its unique texture and taste. Without adding some sugar, it can taste a bit bland.

However, there’s a simple way to enjoy oatmeal. By incorporating it into various breads, cookies, and cakes,

You can fully enjoy its crunchy and nutty flavor.

Today, I introduce flavorful oatmeal bread, a unique way to enjoy oatmeal.

This loaf-shaped bread is generously filled with oatmeal. Depending on your preference, you can sprinkle some oatmeal on top before baking.

This bread is on the hefty side due to the generous amount of oatmeal, making it unsuitable for sandwiches. However, it’s perfect for toasting and spreading butter or jam on top.

How to Make Nutty Oatmeal Bread

Ingredients:

  • 350g of bread flour
  • 5g of instant dry yeast
  • 7g of salt
  • 20g of olive oil
  • 30g of honey
  • 210ml of water
  • 70g of oatmeal

1. First, mix all the dry ingredients well in the sense of coating the yeast.

2. Add the liquid ingredients, including the olive oil and oatmeal.

3. Then, knead the dough for about 20 minutes.

4. Now, shape the dough into a ball and do the first rise for 1 hour.

5. Shape the dough into a ball again and do the second rise for another 20 minutes.

6. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin to release the gas.

7. Flip it over, roll it towards you, then pinch the ends.

8. Place it in a 4-inch bread mold and let it rise for about 50 minutes.

9. Then bake in an oven preheated to 356 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 minutes.

And there you have it, a simple oatmeal bread.

Among the various ways to enjoy oatmeal, I prefer to incorporate it into bread or cookies.

I think that’s the tastiest way.

It’s also delicious when made into muesli.

Please wait until it cools down completely before you cut it so the bread can hold its shape without crumbling.

It tastes better when sliced thin rather than thick.

Try slicing it thin, toasting it in a buttered pan, or lightly toasting it in an air fryer and spreading butter.

Just a slice of delicious and flavorful oatmeal brad is suitable for breakfast, making you feel full.
