Japan’s Kansai International Airport(KIX) has reported no lost luggage for 30 years.
According to CNN, Kansai International Airport has not reported a single incident of lost luggage since it opened its doors in September 1994. As the seventh busiest airport in Japan, it serves an annual average of 20 to 30 million passengers.
In April, Skytrax, the world’s largest airport and airline review site, named Kansai International Airport the world’s best airport for baggage handling in 2024 at the World Airport Awards held in Frankfurt, Germany.
Takanishi Kenji, the spokesperson for Kansai International Airport, humbly expressed gratitude, stating, “We don’t consider ourselves doing anything special; we’re just glad to receive the award for our usual work.”
At the same awards ceremony, Kansai International Airport was ranked 18th in the World’s Best Airport category. Tokyo’s Haneda Airport and Narita Airport ranked 4th and 5th, respectively. Hamad International Airport in Qatar claimed the top spot.
