There’s a tram in Toyohashi, Japan where visitors can enjoy summer with a refreshing beer has become a hot topic.

The Noryo Beer Tram is a traditional event of the Toyohashi Railroad Company, Toyotetsu, and has been running every summer for 32 years to help beat the heat.

Passengers on the tram are served packed meals and unlimited refills of draft beer. Options such as pizza and fried foods are also available for sale, allowing passengers to enjoy their beer with a variety of foods.

The Noryo Beer Tram runs back and forth for approximately 90 minutes between Ekimae Station and Undo Koenmae Station. Reservations can be made on Toyotetsu’s official website.

Noryo means enjoying the freshness of the evening, a term often used on particularly hot summer evenings. As the tram travels through the city on a summer day, passengers can enjoy a beer and forget about the heat.

Events where beer can be enjoyed on public transportation can be found in many countries. The SpåraKOFF pub tram in Helsinki, Finland, and the Beer Tasting Train in Indiana, United States, are particularly famous.
