7 Easy Tips to Banish Water Stains for Good

wikitree Views

Mirrors are everyday objects found in sinks, bathrooms, and restrooms. However, they can quickly develop water stains due to moisture and dust. These stains make the mirrors look dirty and give the impression that the area is unclean. So, what are some practical ways to remove water stains from mirrors? Here are seven useful tips for getting rid of those pesky stains.

1. Mixture of White Vinegar and Water

Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture evenly on the mirror and let it sit for about five minutes. Then, wipe it off with a dry cloth in a circular motion. White vinegar effectively softens water stains, making them easier to remove.

2. Baking Soda and Water

Combine baking soda and water to create a thick paste. Using a sponge, apply the paste to the stained areas of the mirror. After ten minutes, wipe it off with a damp cloth and finish with a dry cloth. Baking soda acts as an abrasive, helping to eliminate water stains.

3. Lemon Juice

Cut a lemon in half and squeeze out the juice. Mix it with equal water and spray it onto the mirror. Wait for five minutes, then wipe it off with a dry cloth. Lemon juice’s natural acidity effectively removes water stains.

4. Dry Newspaper

Spray water on the mirror and then wipe the surface with a rolled-up piece of dry newspaper. The newspaper’s ink and texture help remove water stains while giving the mirror a nice shine.

5. Mixture of Alcohol and Water

Mix equal parts of alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on the mirror and let it sit for five minutes before wiping it off with a dry cloth. The alcohol evaporates quickly, effectively removing water stains and disinfecting the mirror.

6. Combining Vinegar and Newspaper

Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray it onto the mirror, then use newspaper to scrub and wipe it clean. The vinegar’s acidity and the newspaper’s texture effectively remove water stains.

7. Shaving Cream

Spread a thin layer of shaving cream to the mirror’s surface and wait about five minutes. Then, wipe it off with a dry cloth. Shaving cream removes water stains and prevents the mirror from fogging up, making it beneficial.
