The Rocks, located south of Sydney, is just a 15-minute walk from the Opera House. This area is well-known for having the highest number of ghost sightings in Sydney. The Rocks Ghost Tours have become a significant part of local tourism. The Old Merchant House, where the festival will take place, is a historic building in The Rocks.

According to Timeout, the Old Merchant House was constructed in 1841 and has served various purposes, including an education center, office space, museum, and boarding house.

The NSW Heritage Council designated the Old Merchant House as a cultural heritage site in 2002. The Australian event company BBR is organizing the festival and has received special permission to use the building for this event.

The festival will be held for four days, from October 31 to November 3. The main attraction is the House of Horror, which spans four floors of the Old Merchant House. The House of Horror features themed rooms such as a slaughterhouse, an abandoned park, a ghost room, and a vampire lair. Each room offers ghost experiences and cocktail bars.

Another highlight is the Two-Faced Halloween Market, which switches from day to night. During the day, visitors can enjoy a Halloween market and food trucks, with Halloween characters roaming the streets. In the evening, the Zombie Disco Party takes over. A 16-foot-long automated rotating zombie head booth is expected to light up the night.

On November 2 at 8 PM, a Halloween parade will march from George Street to First Fleet Park. Admission to the event is free, but additional experiences start at AUD 20.
