BTS’s V, who has recently enlisted in the military, has shared an update on his current status.

On Wednesday, V communicated with fans through the fan communication platform Weverse, stating, “I will give a midway report. I have achieved 72.5kg (approximately 159.8 lbs).” He added humorously, “I will return. Loyalty!” in a tone filled with military spirit.

V had previously emphasized that he would build his stamina and gain weight before enlisting. In December of last year, he stated through Weverse that he would build up stamina that wouldn’t be exhausted even after multiple concerts, saying, “I will return after gaining up to 86kg (approximately 189.6 lbs).”

Fans are giving him a thumbs up for his effort to take responsibility for his words. They are rooting for V not to get hurt, eat well, and build a great body. They are voicing their hopes for him to serve his country proudly with his growth.

2 PM’s Ok Taec Yeon and JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong were nicknamed “Captain Korea” for gaining weight and building muscle in the military. Expectations are high for V to show a similarly impressive transformation. His expected discharge date is June 10, 2025.

Meanwhile, on the 8th, V was assigned to the Special Mission Battalion directly under the 2nd Army Division Command in Chuncheon. The Special Mission Battalion, a nationally designated unit, is known for its tough military training as an anti-terrorist force. V had previously expressed his determination, saying, “I want to challenge myself(by joining the Special Battalion). I will return without getting hurt and stay healthy.”

On the 16th of last month, V completed his military training with the group’s leader, RM, as a “Best Trainee.” The Best Trainee award is given to trainees who have achieved excellent results in physical fitness and shooting evaluations. As members of the world-class group BTS, it can be inferred that they have also been exemplary in their military service.
