A North Korean youth representative visiting Russia claimed that the Ukraine war is a legitimate struggle for Russia’s sovereignty and security.

Moon Chul, the Head of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, said in an interview with Russian TASS news agency on the 7th (local time), “We believe that the situation in Ukraine is not a simple conflict or war.”

Chairman Moon said, “North Korea wishes for the special military operation (Ukrainian war) to be completed quickly and ultimately with a dazzling success,” expressing active support for Russia.

Regarding the active cooperation between the two countries since the North Korea-Russia summit last year, he said, “The North Korea-Russia relationship is developing to a higher level and has a friendly and strategic nature.”

He also said, “This visit to Russia will be an important opportunity to strengthen the friendly relationship and bonds between the youth of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) and the Russian Federation and to implement the instructions of the leaders.”

Meanwhile, the North Korean youth delegation led by Chairman Moon participated in the World Youth Festival held in Sirius, near Sochi, Russia, from March 1st to 7th.
