Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her fiancé, Durek Verrett, self-professed shamen, are preparing to tie the knot after several years of dating.
According to The Guardian, Princess Märtha Louise and Verrett are set to marry and celebrate four days from August 29 in the picturesque Norwegian village of Geiranger.
Princess Märtha Louise, the eldest daughter of King Harald V of Norway, made headlines in June 2022 when she announced her engagement to Verrett, a shaman who markets himself as a spiritual leader in Hollywood.
Verrett, who is from California and a sith-generation shaman, rose to fame for advising top celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow. He has made several controversial claims, including having died and been resurrected and predicting the 9/11 attacks two years before they happened.
In his book Spirit Hacking, published in 2019, he suggested that illnesses like cancer are linked to a lack of happiness. He also faced criticism during the pandemic for selling online medals that he claimed could help with COVID-19.
Princess Märtha Louise has attracted attention in Norway for her beliefs in communicating with angels and her involvement in mysticism and alternative medicine.
After announcing her engagement, the Norwegian royal family disclosed that she decided to step back from her official royal duties in November of the same year to focus on her alternative medicine business.
However, following King Harald V’s wishes, she will retain her official title, though commercial use is prohibited.
