Tesla’s Chief Information Officer (CIO), Nagesh Saldi, is set to leave the company, according to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday.

Saldi, who played a pivotal role in advancing Tesla’s technological infrastructure, was informed of his departure just days before the company was set to unveil a prototype of its highly anticipated robotaxi at an event in California. The circumstances surrounding his exit remain unclear, including whether the resignation was voluntary.

Saldi joined Tesla in 2021 from HP and played a crucial role in building various custom software solutions. He also significantly contributed to the development of Tesla’s data centers and provided technology that requires increased computing power for autonomous driving and AI developments.

With Saldi’s departure, Tesla’s current executive leadership includes CEO Elon Musk, China operations chief Tom Zhu, and Chief Financial Officer Vaibhav Taneja.
