Jay Park has announced the cancellation of his upcoming performance in Japan following a tragic airplane accident.

On Monday, Jay Park’s agency, More Vision, released a statement via social media expressing their condolences: “We extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families affected by the tragic airplane accident that occurred on Sunday.”

The statement continued, “We regret to inform you that Jay Park’s performance at the CE LA VI TOKYO countdown party, scheduled for Tuesday, has been canceled,” and added, “Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.”

The accident occurred early Sunday morning when Jeju Air flight 7C2216 attempted an emergency landing at Muan Airport with its landing gear malfunctioning. During the belly landing, the aircraft collided with airport facilities, resulting in a catastrophic fire that engulfed much of the plane.

The tragic incident claimed the lives of all 179 individuals on board, including 175 passengers, two pilots, and two cabin crew members.
