Following a harrowing school violence incident in China, where a middle school student was killed and concealed by classmates, measures such as the deployment of Smart Voice Detectors that detect abusive language or cries for help in schools are attracting attention.

According to recent local media reports, including Guangming in China, schools in various regions, such as Fujian Province, Dehui in Jilin Province, and Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu Province, have installed smart voice detectors. These detectors, strategically positioned in security blind spots such as bathrooms, swiftly notify teachers via mobile phones or computers within seconds of detecting instances of abuse or calls for help. If the effectiveness is confirmed during the trial period, more schools will be expected to introduce it.

Last month, on the 10th, Chinese society was shocked by an incident in Handan, Hebei Province, where a 13-year-old middle school student was brutally killed and hidden by three classmates. Three students, including Zhang, who attended a middle school in Feixiang District of Handan City, assaulted Wang with a weapon to the point where his face was unrecognizable. After Wang died, they hid his body in an abandoned vinyl greenhouse, with evidence suggesting that the perpetrators had meticulously planned the assault, including the preparation of a burial site in advance. Reports also indicate they had been bullying the victim regularly.
