From Chips to Chassis: How Nvidia and Foxconn Are Reshaping Auto Production

globalautonews Views

Taiwan’s Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) announced plans to construct an advanced computing center in Kaohsiung, centered around the Nvidia Blackwell platform. The computing center will feature the Superchip GB200 server, which will comprise a total of 64 racks and 4,608 GPUs, with completion slated for 2026.

Foxconn and Nvidia plan to introduce a platform for smart manufacturing, smart electric vehicles, and smart cities by creating digital twins using Nvidia Omniverse. The smart manufacturing platform will combine the group’s image recognition technology with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) and is expected to drive changes for optimal capacity utilization. The production line plan includes the production of AI servers and an electric vehicle assembly plant.

Foxtron, a subsidiary of Foxconn, emphasized that its new Chaozhou car factory will be one of Foxconn Group’s benchmark AI factories. The factory is currently under construction and will utilize a digital twin connected with cloud technology, aiming to achieve collaboration between virtual and actual production lines. Digital real-time monitoring will ensure the manufacturing excellence of electric buses, which are currently in high demand.

The two companies announced that their collaborative efforts on the electric vehicle ADAS platform will also apply to future electric vehicle models designed by Foxconn.

Furthermore, the two companies plan to develop a cabin-driving-in-one smart travel solution based on Nvidia’s next-generation chips, creating a third living space.

Foxconn recently revealed that it is in negotiations for projects with traditional European and American car manufacturers.
