Biden was initially scheduled to arrive at 10 AM, but his landing was delayed until 10:50 AM. Before the President’s visit, highways near Ben Gurion Airport were closed for security reasons.

Upon arriving on the runway, President Biden was welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and commenced his official schedule.

Earlier, John Kirby, the White House National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications, stated that President Biden will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli wartime cabinet to understand Israel’s plans and objectives for the coming days and weeks.

He is also expected to make public remarks after meeting with the victims’ families and rescue workers of the Hamas surprise attack.

The United States has been pressuring Israel to allow humanitarian aid amid speculation that Israel’s ground operation in the Gaza Strip is imminent.

With the planned initially four-party talks between Jordan, Egypt, the Palestinian Authority, and the United States canceled due to the destruction of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in the Gaza Strip of Palestine and the ensuing responsibility debate, all eyes are on what President Biden can gain from this visit.
