North Korea threatened by condemning the regular Korea-US joint military exercise, Freedom’s Shield (FS) vehemently, saying “they will pay the price”.

The North Korean Ministry of Defense stated on the 5th in a spokesperson’s speech, “The United States and South Korea have once again started a large-scale joint military exercise that amplifies unpredictability in the ceasefire status area,” as the North Korean Central News Agency reported.

The Ministry of Defense claimed, “The Korean Peninsula region satisfies the conditions for ignition for triggering a nuclear war with a single spark,” and “The large-scale war exercises deployed by the world’s largest nuclear power and more than ten follower countries cannot be said to be defensive.”

They continued, “We strongly condemn the reckless military exercises of the United States and South Korea, which are further highlighting military threats and invasion plots against sovereign nations.”

The Ministry of Defense warned, “We sternly warn them to stop further provocative and destabilizing actions,” emphasizing, “You will pay the price by experiencing the security anxiety brought about by the wrong choice at a serious level.”

They added, “We will continue to monitor the adventurous actions of the enemies,” and “We will continue responsible military activities to strongly control the unstable security environment in the Korean Peninsula region.”

Meanwhile, Korean and US military authorities will carry out the Freedom’s Shield, a Korea-US joint exercise in the first half of this year, from April 4th to 14th.

During the exercise period, 48 large-scale field training exercises (FTX), more than twice as many as last year, are scheduled to be conducted all over the Korean Peninsula, including joint tactical live fire, air-to-air live fire, air-to-ground bombing, and air assault.
