Former Vice President Al Gore Al Gore also publicly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to The Hill, Gore stated, “With so much at stake in this year’s election – from strengthening democracy in the US and abroad to expanding opportunity for the American people to accelerating climate action – I’m proud to endorse Kamala Harris for President.”
Gore, a long-time advocate for climate change initiatives, praised Harris for her leadership in this area.
He explained that Harris had stood up to big oil companies as a prosecutor and had cast the deciding vote for the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). He noted that this act represents one of history’s most significant climate change investments. “That’s the kind of climate champion we need in the White House,” he added.
Many members of the Democratic Party currently support Harris. Reports suggest she has secured enough delegate support to qualify for the presidential nomination. Recently, former President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who had previously delayed their endorsements, also threw their support behind Harris.
