inews24 Views

Google faced criticism for an advertisement encouraging a father to use an AI chatbot to help his daughter write a fan letter. Following widespread backlash, the company decided to pull the ad.

According to reports from CNBC, Google has decided to remove all ads promoting the AI chatbot Gemini during the Paris Olympics.

The ad showed the chatbot quickly drafting the letter to highlight its capabilities. However, it received backlash for suggesting that basic creative tasks like letter writing should be left to an AI chatbot, a view many found inappropriate.

Google noted that initial tests before the ad’s release had received positive feedback. Nevertheless, they withdrew the ad after assessing the public’s reaction following its broadcast.
