Ukraine Shares Field Phrases in Korean as North Korean Soldiers Near Battle Zones

Daniel Kim Views

Tensions on the Ukrainian front are rising. A document shared by the pro-Russian Telegram account Operation Z-Russian Spring Military Correspondent indicates that the Ukrainian military is making special preparations for potential encounters with North Korean forces.

Yonhap News

The document contains 60 phrases

The document is structured in three sections: Ukrainian, Korean written in “Hangul,” and phonetic Ukrainian for Korean. It includes phrases like “Drop your weapon!” (Кинь зброю! – Мугi порьо!), “What is your mission?”, “Are you hungry?”, “Don’t lie” and “Ukraine adheres to the Geneva Conventions,” all intended for practical use in field interactions. The Operation Z-Russian Spring Military Correspondent account sarcastically commented that this document, created by Kyiv, would be helpful for North Korean soldiers interrogating “great Ukrainians.”

Timing aligned with North Korean deployment rumors

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that North Korean forces are expected to join combat zones on Sunday or Monday. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense had previously announced on October 23 that North Korean soldiers were sighted in Kursk, Russia.

Document authenticity unconfirmed

The Operation Z-Russian Spring Military Correspondent account also shared a photo from the Pokrovsk front near Tskurino, displaying the North Korean and Russian flags raised together. However, the authenticity of this document remains unconfirmed.
