North Korean media outlets provided detailed coverage for the second consecutive day on South Korea’s impeachment crisis following the December 3 martial law declaration.

On Thursday, North Korea’s state-run media, Korean Central News Agency, and the Rodong Sinmun reported that calls for the impeachment of the “Yoon Suk Yeol puppet regime” are intensifying daily, and the political turmoil is deepening.

North Korea maintained its silence on President Yoon Suk Yeol’s declaration of martial law and the subsequent anti-government unrest in South Korea for a week. North Korea resumed its offensive on Wednesday, reporting on the news for the first time since December 5.

The news agency reported that candlelight protests continue across the country, demanding Yoon’s impeachment and the prosecution of those accused of insurrection. Rallies and demonstrations have been held daily in front of the National Assembly and nationwide. Protests condemning the People Power Party for boycotting the impeachment vote were also reported.

It reported that the National Assembly on Tuesday passed a resolution calling for a special prosecutor to investigate the “December 3 martial law declaration ” and demanding the swift arrest of eight key figures responsible, including Yoon.

The agency cited domestic media when asserting that Yoon encouraged military thugs by saying, “If we fail, we can declare another martial law” and “Quickly break down the doors and drag out those inside.”

The report added that internal revelations suggest this emergency was part of a meticulously planned conspiracy.

The agency also provided detailed updates on the investigation related to martial law declaration. It was reported that Yoon had been designated as a suspect in the insurrection and was subject to a travel ban. Additionally, former Defense Minister Kim Yong Hyun, arrested on similar charges, has been labeled as one of the main instigators of declaring martial law. The report also included news about searches conducted at the Presidential Office, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Special Warfare Command.
