Former U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has withdrawn from the Republican presidential primary. As a result, former President Donald Trump can secure the Republican presidential nomination for the third time in a row.

According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on the 6th (local time), former Ambassador Haley said in Charleston, South Carolina, “It’s time to suspend the campaign,” and “I want Americans to voice their opinions. I did so and have no regrets.” She emphasized, “Although I’m no longer a candidate for the primary election, I will not stop voicing my beliefs.”

Former Ambassador Haley did not express support for Trump. She said, “It’s up to Trump to win the votes of party members and others who did not support him, and I hope he does that” and raised her voice saying, “Politics is not about alienating people, but about participating in a cause.” She added, “Our conservative cause desperately needs more people.”

The decision of former Ambassador Haley to withdraw came the day after “Super Tuesday,” when the Republican primaries were held in 15 states across the US. Unfortunately, she only managed to win in Vermont.

Just before former Ambassador Haley’s withdrawal announcement, former President Trump wrote on his social media, “I’ve defeated Haley,” and “At this point, I hope she stays in the race and fights to the end.” Trump also asked Haley’s supporters to support him.
