According to Radio Free Asia (RFA), the misfire occurred during a retreat after an attack on a Ukrainian position.
RFA reported on the tragic incident on Wednesday. North Korean forces accidentally opened fire and killed three Russian soldiers retreating from an assault on Ukrainian positions.
The pro-Russian Telegram channel Crimean Wind disclosed that the incident occurred on Sunday during the North Korean troops’ withdrawal following an attack on Ukrainian positions.
In related news, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SSO) 6th Special Operations Regiment also announced on Sunday that they had successfully liberated a village in the Kursk region previously under Russian control.
The SSO reported via their Telegram channel that both Russian and North Korean forces had been stationed in the village. After intense combat, Ukrainian forces neutralized the enemy’s presence.
The Special Operations Forces released an image of a dead soldier. The soldier is believed to be North Korean, identifiable by the red tape on their limbs. North Korean troops use the method to distinguish themselves as friendly forces.
