“I don’t see that at all.” Donald Trump, the Republican candidate in the upcoming US presidential election on November 5, has stated that he will not run again in 2028 even if he loses this election.
Trump appeared on the TV news show Full Measure on Sunday. The show’s host, Sharyl Attkisson, asked Trump whether he saw himself running again in four years.
Trump responded clearly, “No, I don’t,” emphasizing, “I don’t see that at all.” One reason he cited for this decision is his age.
Trump, born in 1946, is 78 this year and will be 82 by 2028.
Even if Trump is re-elected in this election against Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, he would not be eligible to run in the 2028 election due to term limit regulations.
This election marks Trump’s third presidential run. He was victorious against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election and ascended to power but lost the presidency to Joe Biden in the 2020 election in his bid for re-election.
