Six days after being attacked by Iran on the 13th, Israel retaliated.

On the 19th (local time), ABC News in the U.S. reported that a missile launched by Israel struck a target within Iran. According to the report, the fact of Israel’s retaliation was confirmed by U.S. officials.

However, it is unclear whether places in Syria and Iraq, in addition to Iran, were attacked. If Israel’s attack is confirmed, it would be retribution six days after Iran fired over 300 aerial projectiles at Israel on the night of the 13th.

Reported around 5 a.m. local time in Iran on the 19th.

Iran’s Fars News Agency reported three explosions in Gazestan, located northwest of Isfahan, but the cause could not be determined.

The agency said, “Gazestan is located near the Isfahan airport and the 8th base of the Army Air Force. The attacker is likely a drone, and the defense has been activated in response to the aerial projectiles.”

Iran’s state-run news agency IRNA also reported the same. According to the report, Iran’s air defense system was activated in various areas, and about an hour after the explosion near Isfahan, the Iranian military fired anti-aircraft guns for defense.

Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian interviewed with CNN before the explosion that if Israel takes further military action against Iran, they will respond immediately and to the maximum extent.
